Matt felt he'd been blind, deaf and anosmic before stepping through the anomaly from the future.

He'd grown up in near silence, no songs or idle chatter for fear of attracting the future predators.

He couldn't remember smelling the sweet scent of flowers as a child, only stale air and the stench of too many unwashed bodies.

Everything had been in muted shades, not the vibrant colours of the world he found himself in.

Taking in all the sights, sounds and scents, Matt vowed that he'd stop the Great Disaster. No one should live in the world he came from.
