Primeval drabble: Seeing Clearly Now

Title: Seeing Clearly Now
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: Philip Burton, mentions of others.
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 375: Addiction. For my Making An Impression drabble series. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me.

Burton watched silently as the team emerged from the anomaly, from his mistake. He'd been too obsessed, too full of his own ego to see the disaster he'd made. Oh, Helen had manipulated him into following her plans, but it had been his obsession with Connor that had allowed her to do so.

He saw clearly now, all the mistakes he'd made, people he'd hurt and now he'd destroyed the world. Not the epithet he'd wanted.

He glanced at the readings and smiled. Maybe... it might work. At least, he could try to fix his mistakes – or some of them.

Uh-oh.
When Burton starts thinking, bad things happen :D

**shakes head** The road to hell is paved with good intentions, Phillip. *g*

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-12 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Philip realises that now.

Thanks for reading.

Good for you, Burton. I hope it's not too late, though.

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-12 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Burton hopes so too.

Thanks for reading.

Nice Drabble! I hope Philip did manage to set things right in the end.

Glad you liked it. Hopefully... the next prompt might help.

Thanks for reading.

I'm not convinced this will end well.

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-12 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It didn't for Philip in the series... who knows how it will end in this drabble series.

Thanks for reading.

Hmm, can a leopard change its spots? Intriguing drabble!

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-12 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... maybe ;) He is trying to make amends.

Good to know it worked and thanks for reading.

[identity profile] kristen-mara.livejournal.com 2014-07-13 09:43 am (UTC)(link)

Hmmm, just what is he going to try to change?... Just give them an apology and help, Phil! Oh, and flowers

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-13 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Depending on the next prompt... but hopefully New Dawn. Not sure Lester would welcome flowers from Phil ;)

Thanks for reading.

I hope Philip can manage to make good!

I think Philip hopes that too.

Thanks for reading and for looking it over for me.

I felt bad for Burton right up until the last sentence. It sounds like he's about to stir up trouble again.

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-16 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Burton, there he is trying to do the right thing, and you still doubt him ;)

Thanks for reading.

[identity profile] stealingpennies.livejournal.com 2014-07-18 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)

Helen is very persuasive. But now Philip - hopefully! - Philip has a chance to put right his mistakes. (Although he still can't have Connor.)

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-07-18 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* She is. Philip? Well, that all depends on the prompts ;) (Definitely not, Connor is more than happy with James).

Thanks for reading.

Good to see that Burton has opened his eyes, but not sure the fixing is going to end well O_O

Burton had to have a chance to redeem himself... neither is he ;)

Thanks for reading.

New Dawn wasn't actually that bad an idea - just very badly executed!

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2014-08-02 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* The idea was good, destroying the future, not so good.

Thanks for reading.
