Shadow bounded through the trees, dashing this way and that through the snow as he followed a variety of enticing scents. He froze as he heard a sound, his nose twitching and then he dived head first into a snow drift, gulping down his prize in one bite.

He emerged with a wolfish grin and shook his thick fur free of snow, before dashing back to join Nick with his tail wagging furiously.

“Enjoying yourself?”

Shadow gave a single bark before he Shifted and took Nick in his arms for a kiss. “Thanks for coming with me, Nick. Happy Christmas.”
