Title: The Day Just Got Worse
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Dave, (OWC)
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 284: Future Predator. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues from No Need For Advertisement. Thanks go to Fred for the beta, cheers m'dear.
James' heart thumped hard in his chest when the vegetation parted to reveal the grey, hairless head of a future predator. He held his breath as it sniffed the air and clicked loudly as its head moved from side to side before it seemed to zero in on him and his rapidly-beating heart.
James watched mesmerized as drool dripped from teeth that appeared far too sharp for his peace of mind.
Oh fuck! The last time he'd encountered one, he'd only survived with the help of Monty and, unfortunately for him, he didn't have his mammoth with him this time.
