Abby smiled as she glanced over at James, fast asleep under their scavenged blankets, but he was not alone. The wolf cub must have sensed a warm place to sleep, pawing at James' blanket until it made a gap and wiggled inside, seeking James' warmth.

James let out a yelp and woke swearing, sitting up and revealing a rather sorrowful-looking cub who whined at him.

“He's only trying to keep warm.”

James scowled at her, than the cub. “Maybe, but he's got a cold nose.” He sighed as the cub whined pitifully. “Fine, just... keep your nose off me.”
