Primeval drabble: Stand Off
Title: Stand Off
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Abby Maitland
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 227: Stuff Professionalism. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues on from Not A Weakness. Thanks to Fred for looking at it for me, cheers m'dear.
James knew he should have known better, but he had hoped – in vain, he knew – that Abby had forgotten about him. For once in his life he had actually wanted Connor's damnable machine to keep malfunctioning, as long as it kept Abby out of his office. But here she was, once more interfering where she wasn't wanted.
He leaned back and quirked his trademark quelling eyebrow at her. “Ms Maitland, please remember I am your boss, and this behaviour is not acceptable.”
Abby raised an eyebrow at him, folded her arms and looked him straight in the eye. “Stuff professionalism.”
