James groaned softly as he was jolted from his night's sleep. He blinked bleary eyed at the clock twice before the time registered. What the hell had woken him? He listened intently, fearing it was burglars.

Oh fuck! He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and dragged himself from his warm and comfortable bed, firmly wrapping his dressing-gown closed as he moved towards the sound. He sighed as he flicked on the light. The room was a mess but he couldn't bring himself to yell at the diictodons. They missed Connor's presence in the flat as much as he did.
