Abby felt like whistling as she strolled back to their latest camp, her home-made spear over her shoulder and a couple of fish in her hand. She knew a good meal would make their barely adequate camp look better.

She stopped dead. A solidly built lean-to and a professionally-looking firepit had transformed their camp into... a home. She quirked her eyebrow at Lester. “You didn't tell me you knew how to...” She gestured wordlessly at the whole area.

Lester smiled grimly. “There are lots of things I haven't told you." He sighed and looked away. “We all have our secrets.”
