Title: Mud, Glorious Mud (Not)
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 102
Characters: James Lester, Abby Maitland
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 222: Footprints. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and the other side of We Will. Thanks go to the ever wonderful Fred for casting her eye over this.
James sighed as the mud squished beneath his once-pristine and expensive shoes. They'd be good for nothing except the bin if... no, when they got home. He glared at Abby as she chuckled at him before linking their arms.
“Almost there.”
James snorted in distaste. It wouldn't be quickly enough for him and he sighed with relief when he finally stood on dry land.
“Oh.”
Abby's exclamation had James spinning around. “Fuck!” He looked back over their route, clearly marked by their parallel footprints. He just hoped the tide would wash them away or he'd have some explaining to do.
