A/N: For the P100 challenge 201 Sleep and part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series. Thanks to Fred for looking at them for me.

James held her hand and pressed a soft kiss against her forehead. Stephanie looked so peaceful as she lay in her hospital bed. He smoothed her hair from her forehead and smiled as she mumbled in her sleep.

It had been a difficult delivery, their third child. Third and last, James swore silently, after listening to the doctor's advice. It had been a near thing and he had no wish to risk losing her.

At the soft cry from his new son, James carefully released his grip and equally carefully scooped up his son. “Shh, mummy needs to sleep.”

Stephanie yawned tiredly and cracked open a reluctant eye. Even though she was exhausted from giving birth, and had, she thought, threatened to castrate James if he ever came near her again, she couldn't help smiling at the sight of her two boys.

She'd never tell James he looked so cute when he slept. All of his cares and worries vanquished as he snored softly. Stephanie often lay awake when he'd dozed off, just so she could watch him.

But now, James looked even sweeter with their new son in his arms, cradling the boy protectively even while deeply asleep.

LOL, I do sometimes escape the angst (temporarily). Hee, Lester would probably surprise everyone and be a total nature with babies (although since we don't want an exploded darkhorse, maybe it is for the best we never saw him with one *g*). Thanks for reading.
