A/N: For the P100 challenge 200: Past Prompts and prompt 163 'Lies' and 186 'Someone to lean on' for my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series. Sequel to Not Himself. Thanks to Fred for the beta, cheers m'dear.

Lester's mind scrambled for an answer to Abby's question before she entered his office and tried to - he mentally shuddered - hug him or something equally sentimental.

He knew he'd taken too long when she approached him and he quickly asked, “I beg your pardon?” Not a good response but it would, hopefully, buy him time to think.

“I said, are you OK?”

Lester quirked an eyebrow. “What's Connor done now?”

“What? Nothing?”

Lester sighed disbelievingly. “If there is nothing else, I have work to do.” He looked pointedly at Abby until she sighed and left.

Abby sighed softly as she stroked Rex's head. She knew that something was bothering Lester, just as she knew he wasn't going to open up easily to her. Like Abby herself, Lester was a private individual who didn't like to admit needing help, seeing it as a weakness.

Abby remembered how hard it had been for her to talk to someone about her problems and how much it had helped. Having someone to lean on had made coping with her past so much easier.

She wouldn't push Lester for answers, but she would be there if he wanted to talk.

Aww, Lester needs a hug and he should let Abby do it. You really write this relationship in a lovely sensitive way and I always enjoy reading it
