James smiled as he thought about their lives, his fingers running through Stephanie's hair as they lazed in bed.

They had good friends who they entertained and were entertained by with food and wine.

They lived in a subtly decorated flat that just spoke of sophistication.

They holidayed in sunnier climes at least once a year.

Even better, though, was the news Stephanie had told James last night. News that made his life complete, even though he knew it would change it forever.

But no matter the mess or noise, James couldn't wait to hold his child in his arms.
