A/N: For p100 challenge 197 These are a few of my favourite things. Part 6 of my Dreams of Yesterday drabble series (begins with this fic). Thanks for Fred for looking at this for me.

Sir James Lester had a few favourite things.

At work, he enjoyed a strong cup of coffee ready for him when he arrived.

He appreciated a computer that didn't glitch and a secretary who was a lifesaver when the damned machine ate his important document that the minister needed right now.

He secretly loved it when he could flummox the minister or his toadies by smoothly answering their every enquiry, no matter how stupid.

He liked his colleagues to be dedicated and do their jobs correctly, without prying into his private life or attempting to invite him out with them.

At home, James appreciated the fine art of cooking a meal everyone enjoyed as he listened to the chatter of his children telling him about their day.

He enjoyed tucking his children into their beds and reading them a story. He denied it to Steff, but he looked forward to doing the voices their children loved.

He loved to share a bed with Steff, as they talked about their day or lay in each others arms or kissed or made love.

He looked forward to lying in her arms as he drifted asleep, all his tensions soothed by her presence.
