Ryan carefully backed away from the creature, desperate not to startle it and have it charge him.

Cold sweat ran down his back as he realised that no one would run to his rescue if he called for help, that he was on his own.

Gathering his courage, Ryan reached for a beaker, his hands shaking as he captured his tormentor and threw it into the garden.

His knees gave and Ryan crumpled to the floor, panting as the adrenaline surge faded.

“Fuck!” Ryan leaned his head back. He'd have to retrieve that beaker, but tomorrow was soon enough.

There was a spate of arachnophobic Ryan fics a while back, it just seems to suit him after his reaction to the creatures in ep 1.2. I usually have Connor saving him (and being quite amused by the entire situation).
