A/N: For P100 prompt 954 – At the Garden Centre. Idk, the muse wasn’t cooperating. So a bit more Cry Wolf ‘verse (#37)




The latest anomaly opened at a garden centre – whatever one of those was. Although I would find out as I was required to ‘smooth the manager’s feathers’ as the man was ‘spitting nails’. I assumed these were further mammal sayings and would look them up later...

I stopped and stared.

Not at the destruction my team had caused (and would be paying for) but at the unnaturalness which surrounded me. It was clear the plants had all been in neat rows, monocultures, all looking as if they were clones.

The mammals really were obsessed with controlling everything, even nature itself.
