Abby cried out as she was grabbed from the boat.

She barely managed to gulp a breath before the water closed over her head.

She tried to struggle free, to reach the surface, but the creature held her fast.

Her lungs strained for oxygen, the urge to open her mouth, the need to breath almost overwhelming even as she fought to resist.

Her vision began to grey as she felt her resolve falter. Her lungs were on fire as she was propelled towards a bright light.

Before bursting through the surface, clinging to the cover as she gasped for breath.
