A/N: For P100 prompt 904 – Bored. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me. I might use it as a basis of a Halloween fic (if I can figure it out).
Warnings: My Halloween muse came out to play – Dark, Horror, Dark! Gore.



“What exactly is so important you can’t see me in my office?”

"This."

"I'm at somewhat of a loss why you're showing me..."

"That's not a gunshot wound, James."

"It looks like one to me."

"It does? Ho... I’ve got the autopsy results. It almost Trepanating except..."

"Except?"

"Whatever did it bored out from the inside."

"That doesn't sound healthy."

"It didn't kill him... whatever it was, it ate his brain."

"It ate? What do you mean whatever it was? You think it came through an anomaly?"

“I don’t know any extant creature that does that, so yes.”

“Find it.”
