"Tom...." Lester stopped, a mixed look of fondness and exasperation crossing his urbane features before he sighed. “Where is it?”

“James?” Ryan replied, barely above a whisper, his gaze darted nervously around the room.

“Whatever creepy crawly has invaded our house and threatened grievous bodily harm on your person.”

“It went that way.” Ryan pointed, his tone quavering for a moment before he took a deep breath. “I can do this.”

“Tom?”

“You paid all that money to help me with my phobia. It is time I took care of them myself.”

“If you’re sure.”

“You’ll have my back?”

“Always.”
