I had tried so very hard to fit in. To be one of them. To be seen as a valued member of the ARC and… I sighed.

Lester clearly thought I was beneath him, merely his lackey to fetch and carry for him.

Cutter took his cues from Lester – a first, I am sorry to say – and was even worse.

His wife was just as bad, seeing me as only useful to strike at the ARC.

I was not a fool and could see my opportunity, a simple memo to the minister would gain me everything I had been denied.
