Burton stared at the unnatural storm gathering around New Dawn. Had Anderson been telling the truth when he’d declared New Dawn would destroy the world?


He had only wanted to free the world from the wars Helen had shown him. Wars caused by people struggling to survive in the worsening climate disaster as they fought for enough energy to live.


Burton had the best of intentions, but had he caused the very disaster Helen had sworn he would help stop? He shook his head as he recalled his mother’s saying, that ‘the road to hell was paved with good intentions’.
