"Put your coat on, James."

"Matthew... you knew?"

"You'd always come to say goodbye to him."

A trumpet shattered the silence and Monty staggered to his feet, dazed and swaying, before he trumpeted back.

Monty started to leave, before turning and wrapping his trunk around Lester, squeezing gently.

Lester patted Monty, before pushing the mammoth away. "Go, my friend. Live free." He leaned back against Matt when he wrapped his arms around Lester.

"OK, James?"

"I will be," Lester replied, turning to Matt and sighing. "If you love something, you have to let it go."

Matt kissed him. "Never me."

Sorry for the angst, but once I thought about it is had to be this idea and Lester and Monty. Monty's got his herd back and Lester has Matt so their be fine. *nods* PS don't tell Lester he's cute ;)
