Primeval Fic: Reflection
Jun. 15th, 2024 10:31 pmTitle: Reflection
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 156
Characters: Nick Cutter, (Helen Cutter)
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: Equally no idea when I wrote this one either ;)
Nick wasn’t a fool, far from it, but he hadn’t wanted to admit he’d made a mistake marrying Helen. He remembered when they’d first met at university, both excited to be there. They’d started as classmates before progressing to study partners and finally to much more.
Then it had started to go wrong. Helen’s ideas had grown wilder and he’d been given tenure. They’d clashed more than they’d talked and the gulf between them had grown until Nick had no idea how to bridge it.
Even now, Nick wondered if he would have found a way, but Helen had disappeared… until now. He wondered if that had been the start of it? Had he put Helen on a pedestal? Idealising her until his memory of her was so distorted that he couldn’t recognise the real Helen?
He sighed, knowing he must have. Why else would he have defended Helen to everyone after all she had done?

Nice :)
