James carefully opened his front door and crept up the stairs. He peered in on his sleeping children before near-silently entering his bedroom.

Sliding into his bed, James sighed softly as his wife's arms wrapped around him and she rested her head on his back. “Bad day?”

“Not the best.” He could hardly tell her that they had lost three people in the past. He did, however, quietly moan when her fingers kneaded his tense muscles.

Drifting asleep as he slowly relaxed, James murmured “Love you” to the one person he know he could always depend on.
