A/N: For P100 prompt 831: Endangered Species. Set in my Cry Wolf 'verse




I understood how Cutter felt now he was barred from exploring the wonders of the past. Which meant I needed to ensure he was still… I believe the word was ‘onside’.

“Cutter! A word.”

“Lester?”

“Look, I know it is…”

“Bloody frustrating?”

“You did agree to the temporary memorandum on travelling through the anomalies.”

“Aye.”

I almost winced at the bitterness in his tone, but I knew the mammals weren’t ready to roam the gateways. I had no wish to see them scrabbling for survival in the ruins of their civilisations, an endangered species after recklessly exploiting their own past.
