A/N: For P100 prompt 817: Leftovers. Set in my Smokescreen verse and following the theme this prompt..



“Luc!” I called, strolling towards my youngest and cursing softly when I noticed him kneeling in the mud. Chrissie would bloody kill me. “Luc?”

“Look, daddy.”

I followed Luc’s pointing finger before cursing again. At times, I would gladly feed people to the bloody future predators. I carefully reached out and retrieved the shivering creature, thin and matted.

“What is it, daddy?”

“It’s a kitten. Probably the runt.” I rethought my words at Luc’s puzzled expression. “He’s… like the leftovers, Luc. Someone didn’t want him and threw him out like rubbish.”

“Can he come home with us?”

“Well, for now.”
