The blood tube looked innocuous, if one ignored it was in the highest biosecurity hood they had. He had no idea why the sample deserved such treatment, nothing indicated it was a risk to anyone… but he knew better to question one of Ms Johnson’s orders.

He bit back a sigh, Ms Johnson’s would be furious if he hadn’t even started to extract – he checked the label – the DNA of one Lester, James P. His thoughts wondered as he proceeded through the familiar steps of extraction; although he knew Ms Johnson wouldn’t answer them, just demand he sequenced it ASAP.
