James collapsed into his armchair, tears threatening to spill down his face as his façade finally cracked.

He suppressed a sob.

It hurt so much.

He couldn't imagine his life without her. Coming home after a day saving the world, James knew he'd miss her support as they shared a meal and an evening together. He wasn't sure how he'd survive without her comforting arms around him as he drifted asleep.

Finally his tears flowed as he remembered holding her close. Having to say goodbye as she slipped from this cruel world was the hardest thing he had ever done.
