I never thought I’d return here, to where it had all started. The sea of sunflowers beneath the setting sun looked as innocent as the first time I’d laid eyes on it.
I remembered that day all to clearly. We’d enjoyed the sun while we waited for the locked anomaly to fade.
Only it had flared back to life and we’d tensed, ready for whatever came through… Not that we’d expected the ragtag group staggering through.
Survivors of a vicious plague.
A plague which swept through our world with devastation.
And the only cure might lie through that same anomaly.
