A/N: For P100 prompt 748: Knock knock. Sort of a sideswipe, maybe, of the prompt and these lyrics. For Connor/Ryan month too.

Every breath hurt and Ryan was so, so cold. He cried out when he was jostled, before seeing Cutter’s worried face.

“The first time we came here, that body we found, that was me, wasn’t it? I was looking at myself.”

“I don’t believe in predestination.” Ryan hissed when Cutter pressed against his wounds. “Sorry, Stephen's better at this.”

“Take my rifle and go,” Ryan ordered.

“Ryan.”

“No, it’s all going dark and I know I’m not going to make it. Just… please tell Conn...”

“Tell him yourself,” Cutter cut him off. “You’re not knocking on heaven’s door just yet.”
