Detective Inspector Martin Osborn stared at the body, as torn and bloodied as the last two. “Why can’t I have a… a nice, sensible case for once?”

“Sensible, Ossie?” Collins asked as he examined the body.

“Not this supernatural crap,” Osborn continued. “You know, I’d settle for a bloody body in the library. A spare key under the mat, even a bloody secret passageway no-one but the killer knows about.”

“You.. ah. The ARC?” Collins half-asked, half-stated.

“Yes, them.”

“I know you don’t get on with Sir James but…” Collins frowned, a slight smile on his face. “Oh, Ms Lewis?”
