I met the Coe.. Lizards’ cold, merciless gaze and suppressed the shiver that ran down my back. I had the distinct feeling they were deciding if we were dangerous or prey. As much as I wanted to run, I knew that would put me firmly in the prey category, and well, Helen had survived through the anomalies for the past decade. “I assume you have a plan?”

“To run faster than you.”

I suppressed the urge to glare at her. “I assume that was an attempt at humour?”

“Be quiet and let me think.”

“I take that as a no.”
