Primeval Drabble: Only If They're Hungry
Title: Only If They’re Hungry
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Helen Cutter
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For P100 prompt 717: The Triassic. I thought it was time to write more of my Ice Age drabble series (#33) and follows on from Only Option. This is probably a bit of a side-swipe but it gets them off of the mountain ;)
*Crack*
Lester spun, staring at the avalanche careening towards them. He turned back, unsurprised to find Helen missing, presumably through the anomaly as he hadn’t heard her scream.
Seeing little option, Lester took a running jump and launched himself into oblivion if the anomaly closed.
He stumbled as feet met land rather than the air he’d half expected. His hammering heart slowing before speeding up once more at the nearby chattering and he spun to find several small dinosaurs staring at him, rather too hungrily for his peace of mind.
“Coelophysis,” Helen murmured beside him.
“Dangerous?”
“Only if they’re hungry.”
