A/N: For the P100 Challenge 177 Hospital. Continues from Holding On and continues in Relief. Set in my wolfverse universe (Lester's a werewolf). Thanks to Fred for the beta.

Nick slowly woke to bleeps. He was tired. So very tired. His whole body felt exhausted, even opening his eyes took all his strength.

He felt his hand gripped tightly and moaned softly.

A well-loved voice sounded by his side, cracking with suppressed emotion. “Don't you ever do that again. I almost lost you.”

Nick blinked several times before he managed to focus on James' face. His lover looked shattered, his eyes red and darkly shadowed.

Nick's own voice was shaky and hoarse. “James?”

James didn't answer, he just buried his face against Nick and half-sobbed in relief.
