Lester swore softly when his phone woke them in the night. “Sorry, I forgot to switch it off.”

“Shouldn’t you answer it?”

“No.”

“It could be important.”

“Nothing in Works and Pensions is.”

“They’re insistent buggers, aren’t they.”

“Hmmm.”

“Oh god, yes.”

“Hmm.”

“Guh. James... as.. as much as I love... what you’re doing… could you answer and.. guh.. and tell them to bugger off so you can... Fuck!… fuck me.”

“Fine. Lester… Oh?… That is unfortunate, but… Ah, I see. Of course, minister.”

“James?”

“There’s an anomaly at Number 10.”

“Oh?”

“Indeed. They’ve reopening the ARC. Come with me?”
