Lester silenced the babbling of his gathered staff with a quelling glare. “Before we start this meeting, might I remind all of you that we are here to protect the public from whatever comes through the anomalies.”

“And to return the creatures home, unharmed,” Abby interjected pointedly.

“And to repatriate the creatures when we safely can,” Lester continued smoothly as if he hadn’t been interrupted. “We are not here,” he paused to dispense a stern look at the usual suspects. “I repeat, we are not here to sign autographs, pose for selfies or whatever other nonsense your fans might desire.”
