A/N: For the P100 Challenge 177 Hospital. Continues from In Hell and continues in Holding On. It set in my wolfverse universe (Lester's a werewolf). Thanks go to Fred for looking at it.

James found it impossible to sit still as he waited for news. He couldn't understand how Nick had managed to just wait when he had been the one in hospital.

The need to move was growing inside James, the need to do something. But he couldn't leave his mate like this.

Unconscious.

Unprotected.

Vulnerable to any passing predators.

Oh, James knew Nick should be safe in the hospital, but his instincts still demanded that he stood guard.

And right now, he wasn't allowed to see Nick.

The human part might understand, but the wolf certainly didn't and its frustration grew.

You're welcome. I've only read one other in this universe, and it was really good. It was the one where Nick and Lester were at a park and a little boy was almost kidnapped. It was a fantastic story. Do you have a master list for this?

I love the idea of James thinking Nick is vulnerable to predators. I adore it when he can't manage to suppress the wolf in him.
