Title: Wonders And Terrors
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: Helen Cutter, James Lester
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For P100 prompt 690 - Beauty and the Beast. Follows on from Truth and is part 26 of my Ice Age drabbles series. A bit (lot) of a sideswipe at the prompt.
“We’re a lot alike, James.”
“Excuse me?”
“We’re both pragmatic, realists if you prefer. We see the world as it really is, the wonders and the terrors, the heights humanity has soared to and the depths of depravity they can fall to.”
“They? That sounds like you don’t consider yourself human any more.”
“We stand between the darkness and the light, James. Only we can save the world, by doing whatever is necessary to protect humanity from itself. What do you say, James?”
“That you sound suspiciously like you’re trying to get me to agree to something with dubious morals.”

Date: 2020-07-29 05:44 am (UTC)A flat-out refusal to answer a question is a very long step into pure manipulation territory.
Nicely done on getting Helen's character.

I would have punched her in the face there, but Lester is a gentleman.
