Primeval Drabble: Come And See
Title: Come And See
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Helen Cutter
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For P100 prompt 685: Extreme Weather Events. Set in my Ice Age series and follows on from The Zookeeper.
Lester followed Helen through the crowded streets. “What happened, Helen?” He demanded when they paused in an alley. “What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You expect me to believe you?”
“No.” Helen sighed. “The climate changed, James. Extreme weather events became normal. Droughts laid waste to farmlands, the floods that followed drown anything which survived. People tried to store water for the summer and grow what food they could. Society broke down, those who failed attacked those who succeeded.”
Lester couldn’t say that surprised him. “And my people?” He stepped back when an anomaly opened.
“Come and see.”

When Helen says something like that, I get the "'will you walk into my parlour,' said the spider to the fly" feeling...
