Lester flicked through the newspaper, not really reading it but hoping his subconscious would spot whatever was wrong. He paused, staring, could that be it?


He grabbed yesterday’s newspaper, the crossword almost finished, and flipped through to the same page. His eyes widening and he swore before fishing an older newspaper out of the bin, almost desperate to find he was wrong.


He dropped the newspaper, every one said the same and he didn’t recall the year he was stranded in being record breaking. It looked… He glanced up at a cleared throat, meeting Helen’s gaze and asked, “Global warming?”
