A/N: For P100 prompt 681: Catching Up. Follows Never Change, the series began with Ice Age.


The longer he spent in hospital, the more frustrated Lester became. Oh, he had a steady supply of newspapers, having convinced a cleaner to bring them in, but catching up on the news wasn’t really that helpful – he now knew the date but couldn’t recall anything special about it.


To make matters worse, Helen had taken him at his word. She’d been gone over a week but he knew she was still plotting, still wanting his help to fix whatever disaster she’d caused.


He glanced at the newspapers again, something niggling in the back of his mind. Something was different.

Lester will keep an eye out for her, he knows she'll be back at some point, it is what she's getting upto by herself he's worried about.
