Sir James Lester paused at the entrance, he always hated having to visit someone in hospital.

The problem was the smells.

Not the regular ones, he could handle the over-powering stench of bleach (just).

No, what made it terrible for James were the other smells.

The scents of pain and fear that lingered in the air.

The smell of death that he could still detect.

As much as he hated to set foot inside, he had to be there.

Nick needed him, and James would do anything for his mate.

Even step into, what for James, was hell on Earth.
