Lester both wanted the doctor to finish poking and prodding him and to stay, anything to put of being alone with Helen.

“How do you feel, James?” Helen enquired as the doctor left.

“What do you want?” Lester growled, in no mood for Helen’s games.

“A thank you might be nice.”

Lester bit back his instinctive response before muttering, “Thank you.”

“Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?”

“What do you want, Helen?” Lester folded his arms and gave Helen a rather sub-pare glare.

“Your help.”

My help?” Disbelief dripping from every syllable.

“Yes, James. We’re all in this together.”

Yeah, I'm with James. No way to trust Helen.
I like this series.
