The news from the latest anomaly had Lester dropping everything; he had to know if it was the correct time and place to return Monty home.

It was a decision Lester was now ruing; stuck on the wrong side of a closed anomaly, his teeth chattering as he huddled in the scant shelter of what he could only charitably call trees. He kept one eye on the empty space the anomaly had flickered out and the other on anything which might be hunting in this icy landscape.

He cursed softly when it began to snow, just what he bloody needed.
