Lester glanced at the clock, biting back a sigh as he rose to stroll down the ramp towards the ADD. “Temple! Are you sure your … machine’s working?”
“Perfectly. I only checked her this morning.”
“No sign of any anomalies?” Lester pressed.
“Nope,” Connor replied, munching a crisp. “Its been a silent night.”
“So far,” Lester muttered as he resigned himself to the inevitable. “Call me if there is an incursion.”
“I thought it was the minister’s carol concert tonight, James?”
Lester scowled at Jenny for the reminder, muttering “Precisely,” under his breath as he reluctantly headed to his car.
