“Well, that could have gone better,” Danny quipped.
“Yes, it could have,” Lester replied evenly, causing Danny to look up and wince as he met Lester’s gaze.
“Ah. Sorry, guv,” Danny murmured. “I didn’t know you had a meeting with them.”
“You would, Quinn, if you paid any attention in meetings.”
“I am sorry, James…. But you’ve got to admit it was funny.”
“Be that as it may,” Lester replied, his lips twitching slightly, “The minister would not agree with you.”
“With us,” Danny corrected, taking the slight inclination of Lester’s head as agreement. “What about Johnson?”
“She definitely doesn’t.”
