Ryan Mason watched the couple walk away, leaving him on the merry-go-round, alone with his memories. They said what had happened at that house wasn’t his fault but Ryan knew it was. He should have stayed and helped his friends rather than run away like a bloody coward, their screams echoing in his ears.

Those memories still haunted him, waking him in the night, drenched with sweat as his gaze darted around for that sharp-toothed face leering at him in the darkness.

As Ryan watched them leave, he knew today would be the day he returned and faced those fears.
