A/N: For P100 prompt 623: The Line of Duty. Episode tag… and possibly a bit of a side-swipe… but time is getting on.


I winced slightly when I took a deep breath, gripping the controls to the mammoth’s pen and closed my eyes. I knew this was my only chance to survive Leek’s, bloody Leek’s murderous plot.

As I waited for the end, one way or another, I thought back over my life. I had regrets, anyone who said otherwise was a liar, but I knew I had always done my duty. Whatever had been necessary to keep my country safe from foes, foreign, domestic and, right now, time travelling.

I smiled and activated the controls, knowing I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
