The news Connor was back in hospital left my facade hanging by a thread. One which snapped when Quinn had made a joke about Connor having a season ticket. Quinn’s expression had quickly turned to understanding and… the less I thought about the trip to hospital on the back of Quinn’s motorcycle, the better.

I wasn’t quite sure how I’d been allowed into Connor’s room and I couldn’t bring myself to care how Quinn had persuaded the nurses. No, I held Connor’s hand, willing my lover to wake and planned how to persuade the PM to increase the NHS budget.
