A/N: For P100 prompt 616: Darkness. Sequel to Ghost Stories and… I might have been somewhat mean to the characters.


The boy ran away from the flickering light, hearing his friends calling him names before he heard them start to scream. He dove into a cupboard and cowered shaking in the back. Tears slid silently down his cheeks as he heard the screaming stop, knowing he’d left his friends behind.

He waited for what felt forever, listening for It to come for him, but all he could hear was his own heartbeat, sounding far too loud in the silence. A drum beat calling It to him.

He froze in fear when he heard movement outside, as the door creaked open.
