Lester sighed. When had his whole life became about lies?

He could convince himself those he told the public were necessary for the greater good, that they prevented panic and disorder.

The lies he told his staff were harder to justify, but he'd been told they were necessary and so he lied with a heavy heart.

The lies he told his family kept him awake at night, even as he told himself he did it to protect them.

He told himself they would understand if they discovered the truth, but he had to wonder if he was lying to himself.
